Gone is 2009, 2010 begins. It has been quite a while since I last blogged with words. Let this be a new beginning to the way I blog... sharing in a more thoughtful manner about my life journey.
2009 had been a year of lessons learnt & blessings gained. Although there were hard knocks along the way, it had been an awakening experience for my growth towards maturity. Life is as such, valuable experiences gained over time.
As 2010 begins, it's a time of new year resolutions. Pray that I can acheive the following by God's grace & guidance:
1) Train up physically and spiritually. 1 Timothy 5:7 "For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come." a) exercise regularly to keep fit & healthy to be able to serve God effectively. b) read the BIBLE with diligence by following the BIBLE reading plan (aim to complete the reading of the Old Testament in the plan) & preparing myself in advance for Bible Study (Sunday School) c) commit God's Word to memory - memorise the memory verses (following the BIBLE reading plan) d) pray fervently (requests, prayers, intercession & thanksgiving c.f. 1 Timothy 2:1) Colossians 4:2 "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."
2) Focus on serving God with the right heart attitude as 'slave of Christ' Ephesians 6:7 "Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men."
1 Peter 4:10-11 "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power ever and ever. Amen."
a) serving in the singspiration ministry, translation ministry & church library ministry. b) serving at my work place (fulfilling my duties @ work faithfully & reaching out to share the gospel through lifestyle evangelism) c) In all these, to be selfless, putting God above all else in the way I live.
3) Be Wise in Living a) Be mindful of my speech & actions Ephesians 4:29 "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for buidling others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."
Ephesians 5:19-20"Speak to one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Colossians 3:16-17 "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
Colossians 4:6 "Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."
4) Fellowship with fellow brothers & sisters in Christ Hebrews 10: 24-25 "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you seein theDay approaching."
Proverbs 17:17 "A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." Proverbs 18: 24 "A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother."
a) Sunday church services (Breaking of Bread, Sunday School & Preaching Service) b) WAF (Working Adult Fellowship) c) Church outings/ gatherings d) Meeting up with fellow sisters in Christ (sharing of personl & spiritual life, praying for one another, etc.)
What a joy in fellowships! More to come in the year ahead. I am certainly looking forward as the year unfolds like a mystery.
Yesterday is past, Today is the present, Tomorrow is a mystery.

{JUST BE who I want to be}
Just Be
Be strong enough to face the world each day
Be weak enough to know you cannot do everything alone
Be generous to those who need your help
Be frugal with what you need yourself
Be wise enough to know that you do not know everything
Be foolish enough to
BELIEVE in MIRACLES
Be willing to SHARE your JOYS
Be willing to SHARE the sorrows of others
Be a leader when you see a path others have missed
Be a follower when you are shrouded in the midst of uncertainty
Be the FIRST to CONGRATULATE an opponent who SUCCEEDS
Be the LAST to CRITICIZE a friend who FAILS
Be sure where next step will fall, so that you will not stumble
Be sure of your final destination, in case you are going the wrong way.
Be LOVING to those who LOVE you
Be LOVING to those who DO NOT LOVE you, and they may CHANGE.
