Sunday School Day

Today was Sunday School Day. The little ones were so cute and adorable presenting the songs. Heehee... my niece Keziah was dancing away as she sang too.

Seeking God, Loved by God

Thanks be to the LORD for the bright morning sun that warms the day. As I meditate on Psalm 62 for my Quiet Time, I am reminded of God's LOVE for me. God has created us in His image to have emotions, hence it is legitimate and good to long to feel loved.

Often, I am feelings-deficient, longing to talk to someone and for someone to listen to me. Emptiness and lonely feelings when alone. I thank the LORD for providing me with the needs of talking and listening in my relationship with Him. He is my Special Friend unlike any other. He fills up my empty heart.
God speaks to me through His Word to my heart (Hebrews 4:12 => Word of God is living and active). He wants me to pour out my heart to Him about everything (Psalm 62:8) - even my longing to feel His love. Besides a relationship with Him, He daily gives me breath, clothing, food and shelter.

Like the psalmist, I find God to be my "rock"and "refuge as I trust Him. (Psalm 62:2, 7) In God alone, I find rest. Truly, God is always there for me and never fails me though I may fail Him. It is such a great blessed assurance to know that God loves us. Knowing that God loves us comes by faith; feeling His love for us comes by relationships.

In times of discouragement, I thank God that He never forsakes me or leaves me lonely. I thank God that He loves me and deisres to me to a place of a renewed vision of Himself.

The weak, the helpless, and the discouraged are in the Shepherd's special care.

Praying each day for God's directions. Seeking Him to walk in His way. Having left my teaching job since 30th June and working as a part-time research assistant and tutor for the past 6 months, I am not sure what's next. In terms of my career plan, I am clueless. Praying to God to show the way. I don't know about tomorrow, but God knows. That's the greatest comfort that I have.

Pray that I live my life according to God's will, not my will. Praying for more self-discipline and control to devote more time to reading God's Word, praying and growing spiritually. Love God, not the world. Set my heart on things above, not on things below. Pray to be diligent in serving God and not succumb to laziness.
