Change of Address

Thanks be to the LORD my GOD for this bright and beautiful day. Awoke to the beaming sun rays that shone into my room this morning.

Today's Daily Bread reading for my Quiet Time is very apt for me. Change of Address. Since May, I have shifted from my old home at Sims Drive to my new home at Upper Boon Keng Road, located near Kallang MRT station.

The Daily Bread reading is on Colossians 1: 9-14.
The star verse to keep in mind is Colossians 1:13
"He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.

In the BIBLE, Apostle Paul reminded the believers in Colosse that they had "a change of address" and that they should share it with others. They had moved from one community and "conveyed" or transplanted, by the grace of God, into a new community. They had been rescued from the kingdom of darkness and been brought into the kingdom of Jesus.
Their old address was sinner@kingdomofdarkness. When they became followers of Jesus, their new address became saved@kingdomofHisdearSon.

In Philippians 3:20, Paul declared that all believers are citizens of heaven and should live worthy of their new address. He encouraged the Christians in Colosse to walk in wisdom toward those who were outside the faith so that people should see and hear about the changes.
(c.f. Colossians 4: 5-6
"Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.
Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.")

Therefore, if I have "a change of address", I ought to tell someone about what Jesus has done in me.

When we are reborn - made new in Christ -
It should be plain for all to see
That God has changed us from within
And placed us in His family. ---Sper

When Jesus comes into a life, He changes everything.

Indeed, it is true that Jesus Christ has changed my life since He came into my life at a tender age of 5 years old. Through the years of life, I have encountered several challenges. There were good times and bad times. Nevertheless, through it all, I count my blessings as I reflect, realising Jesus Christ has carried me through.

No doubt, there had been times of sorrow and despair. Yet, I thank God for giving me the victory over sin, over the various challenges in my life to grow to be stronger in faith, hope and love. As I recall, God is answering my prayers. I have asked to learn to be patient and love just as Jesus Christ loved me and died on the cross for my sins.

RAIN DOWN ON ME - by Point of Grace

Over the years, God has taught me little by little, step by step, how to be patient and how to love the people around me... be they children or adults, friends or foes. Although my learning journey has its ups and downs, just like sailing in the stormy seas, I thank God for blessing me and surrounding me with "angels" (family, brothers and sisters in Christ, friends and others) who cheer and refresh my weary and downcast soul.

I am blessed by God. What a joy to be a Christian, a follower and believer of Christ. In Him, I have peace, comfort and joy! I never walk alone because I have Jesus Christ in me. YEAH! HALLELUJIAH!
