A Moment to Remember

As I made my way to give tuition in the afternoon, I met an ex-student, Jason, whom I taught when he was in Primary 2. It was a pleasant surprise. Time flies. 5 years have passed since I last taught him. It was also since I first started teaching back then in 2004. A sweet feeling of being called 'Miss Lim' by an ex-student. It sure warms my heart and brightens my day to know that my students remember me. Heehee...

However, I had difficulty recalling who he was since he has grown up and changed so much since Primary 2. Moreover, it's always easier for students to remember their teacher than us remembering them. I look just about the same, but the kids grow and change. Well, I had a brief chat with him before I continued my way to my tuition kid's home.

For that brief moment, lots of feelings were evoked. Memories of the good old teaching days just flash before me once again. Definitely, it made me wonder if I would ever return to the teaching force. Teaching has its intangible rewards, especially the honour, respect and remembrance by students. Teachers make an impact and a difference in every little lives touched. I am glad I once did that as a school teacher. For now, I still do in a way as a tutor to 9 kids.

Nonetheless, the past is the past. All that's left is to move ahead to the unknown future that lies beyond. I shall just continue on in my journey through God's guidance, discovering His plan for me. Through the years, I know it's important to just take everything in stride, doing it all step by step, little by little, trusting in the LORD as HE leads me.

Although one door closes on me, yet another will open for me. There's always a light at the end of the tunnel; a rainbow at the end of a storm.

Discovery in the Park & Flyer

Thanks be to God for His goodness and wonderful works. The weather was good in the morning for cycling in the park once again.
Today, I found a fallen tree branch along the cycling path to Singapore Flyer.

I also took a look at the outside of the Yakult Rainforest Discovery. Yet to explore the inside as the security guard chased me out to park my bicycle outside. I could not find the place for parking my bicycle. Hence, ended up buying myself a large mashed potato from Popeyes. Heehee... my all time favourite food.

As I cycled back home, I discovered another squirrel on a tree trunk. This squirrel was really fast in scooting off upon seeing that I was taking photo of it. Nonetheless, I managed to capture a shot of it.

Riverside Cycling to Marina Promenade & Singapore Flyer

Today was a bright and sunny morning. Thank God I have recovered from my mild cold that I caught. Upon completing my Quiet Time and household chores in the morning, I went cycling at 10a.m. at Kallang Riverside Park.

With great cheer, I basked in the sunshine and cycled to Marina Promenade. Finally, I arrived at the end of the park connector at Singapore Flyer that faces Marina Barrage. To my surprise, I saw a squirrel leaping from tree to tree as I cycled. Being an avid photographer, I stopped to take shots of it. Interesting discovery in the park. Heehee, I was elated with my ride in the park. Check out my photos and slideshow.
