Battling Challenges

Life is full of challenges. Everyday is a new day filled with unknowns. Thanks be to GOD that in Him I can trust and rely on all the days of my life. Though I may not know my tomorrow or even the next moment in life, I am assured that Jesus Christ leads me through the way. Good times or bad times, I have learnt to be always ready with the armour of God to battle and give thanks, rejoicing even in trials.

Well, it definitely is not easy to rejoice in times of pain, fear, sadness, illness and all the negative stuff. Nontheless, hope and strength in the LORD carries me through and gives me the joy from within to be able to sing unto the LORD each day and give thanks.

In the past 2 weeks, uncertainties and illness are battles that I have fought. First, it was being sick with flu for over a week myself. Now that I have recovered from my bout of flu, it's my Dad who is down with some weird inner ear imbalance that causes vomitting and dizziness symptoms that happen at random times since Saturday. First thing that came to mind was to PRAY. Praying for my Dad's health... praying for my parents' health since they are getting on in age and start have health problems like heart palpitations for my Mum.

In everything, I commit it to prayer. Prayer is like talking to someone. On the receiving end is GOD=Jesus Christ =Holy Spirit. Since young, praying to God is like talking to my best friend. God is a FRIEND who is always there, ever ready to listen to me. It was always a matter of whether I wanted to talk to Him frequently or not.

For everything that happens in my life, God has His purpose. I love Ecclesiastes 3 in the BIBLE. That particular book and chapter always reminds me that God has made everything beautiful in His time. Ecclesiastes 3:1 "To everything there is a season. A time for every purpose under heaven."
Ecclesiastes 3:11- 13 "He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.
I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives, and also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labour - it is the gift of God."

In everything, give thanks, pray and be contented. God has blessed me in many other ways. It's always important to remember to count my blessings. One of the blessings is in the form of the lovely friends I have around me. Always praying for my friends that God keep them safe, healthy and happy. Of course, praying for their salvation (know GOD as their personal Saviour) too! That's always my hope for all the people around me whom I love... friends, family, relatives and others. GOD loves me, so I love the people around me. (^_^)

Life is a mystery, full of challenges but I know whom I can trust and walk my life in confidence of discovering His Will... the master plan for me. Though I may fall along the way, but God will pick me up to journey the way once again as a stronger person if I rely on Him. Yeah!

What a great smurfing Saturday I had! Started off with tuition with 2 kids (one after the other at 2 different places) in the morning, followed by late lunch with my ex-NIE BA Club junior (aka my xiao mei) Jinghan at Tampines One.

While waiting for my junior JH, I met my ex-student from Tanjong Katong Primary as I alighted from bus 10. Just a smile from this Primary 3 girl, remembering that I was once her teacher, ooohhh... that really melted me with the warmth of the familiarity. I was like, "Oh, you still remember me?" coz she was just one of the students in my Primary 2 music classes from last year. Though it was just a year ago that I left teaching, it was really sweet and heart-warming to have students recognising me by either smiling or calling out to me, "Miss Lim!". The indescribable rewarding feeling and nostalgia lingers on...

We ate our late lunch at Sushi Tei, enjoying the food as we chatted. Heehee... I was really surprised when she presented me with belated BD gifts as she previously wasn't able to meet me during my BD period. Oohh... so sweet and heart-warming.

Thanks be to God for every moment of my life. God has blessed me and guided me through both the good and bad times. In every situation, I have learnt and still am learning to be contented. By God's grace, I am blessed with a circle of friends who offers me great support, encouragement and warmth. Old friends, new friends.... simply cheers me on, giving me the "all sparks"! God has provided me with a rainbow in my journey of life.... Friends to me are somehow like CAREBEARS.... different in every ways (character, behaviour, style, etc), yet share something in common somewhat... Heehee...

Following dessert at Bakerz Inn, I went to my favourite hair-stylist, Eve @ Geylang East 'Hair Journal' to trim my hair. Well, I will try to let my hair grow longer again... hopefully long enough someday to do some 'princess curls'. Heehee... will need more endurance to get past the 'bushy n messy' stage and certainly require my hair-stylist to help me to keep it trimmed neatly to get to that stage. Transformer! Hahaha... let's see how far I can go. :P

I Love Fridays!

Today was a fun day at work. I certainly had fun taking photos with my frenzs @ my work place. Hahaha... funky Friday. The initial plan was to have a blue theme for the day, but only a few turned up in blue. Nonetheless, it was fun taking snapshots with my colleagues cum frenzs.

Lunch time was enjoyable, being in the company of a group of frenzs. We shared the Hakka dish, Abacus that my Mummy had cooked. Yummy... Heehee... that was part 1 of lunch. We also went over to NTU canteen for a quick bite for part 2. (^-^)V

Since it is Friday, we have the usual BUZZ time, that's an hour of exercise. Instead of joining the rest for squash for fear of injury coz our habitual style of badminton strokes, my friend, Shirley and I ran around the campus instead for about 45 minutes. Well, great to have her company for running and glad that she was willing to jog with me at my slow speed. Haha, I will have to work to build up my stamina to run faster so that it won't be so torturous for her to run with me since she can actually run much faster. We sure click well to have endless topics to chat about... (^o^)

After work, it was dinner at JP food court. Food was good but serving was really too big. Hahaha... we window-shopped for a while to digest all the food. It had been a fantastic day with funky frenzs around. I love Fridays! Yippee... I am enjoying my time here at CRPP as a research assistant.

Accident Prone again...

This morning I had a shock while alighting from the shuttle bus at NTU. To my horror, the bus driver closed the door on me while I was walking down the steps of the back door to alight. I suffered a slight scratch but nearly tumbled out of the bus.

As I gazed back at the shuttle bus in shock and pain, I saw the bus driver running down out of the bus towards me. Well, at least he realised that he closed the door on me and bothered to apologise. He even confessed that he didnt't see me getting off the bus. Faint. I guess next time I better sit in front and alight from the front door where he can see me. The bus driver must be real sleepy to overlook the fact that there was someone, that's me alighting from the back door. Thankfully, it was just a scratch, nothing major. Phew!

Just Be

Be strong enough to
face the world each day
Be weak enough to know
you cannot do everything alone

Be generous to those who need your help
Be frugal with what you need yourself

Be wise enough to know that
you do not know everything
Be foolish enough to

BELIEVE in MIRACLES

Be willing to
SHARE your JOYS
Be willing to
SHARE the sorrows of others

Be a leader when you see a path others have missed
Be a follower when
you are shrouded in the midst of uncertainty

Be the FIRST to CONGRATULATE an opponent who SUCCEEDS
Be the LAST to CRITICIZE a friend who FAILS

Be sure where next step will fall, so that you will not stumble
Be sure of your final destination,
in case you are going the wrong way.

Be LOVING
to those who LOVE you

Be LOVING
to those who DO NOT LOVE you,
and they may CHANGE.

Above all, BE YOURSELF.
