Fun Friday! Yeah!

It was a fun-filled Friday that I had today on 5th September. After my rounds of tuition at Waterside and Seaview, I had lunch at my tuition kid, Albert's house at Seaview before bringing 3 of my tuition kids, Albert, Gabby and Izaac, with their mothers and Albert's maid to Hort Park, the Gardening Hub at Hyderabad Road, off Alexandra Road. We went in 2 taxis separately to reach Hort Park around 3p.m. After the rain earlier in the morning, the afternoon was real sunny and hot. Well, thanks be to God for the good weather to be able to bring them around. Hahaha... I was like a tour guide cum nature guide, introducing the different plants and flowers at the Hort Park. Lol. The kids had fun admiring and discovering various plants and insects. There were even plants planted in shoes. Hmmm... doesn't this ring a bell? Ahah, REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE! Lol... so you know, you can use old shoes to grow plants too. Heehee. Gabby was very sharp in pointing to me her discovery of the red/ purplish dragonfly around the bougainvillea kingdom. The 2 little boys had great fun at the playground there too.
Guess what? While we were moving off from Hort Park, we caught Terence Cao Guo Hui filming on the set. Wow! Heh, I took a quick shot and zoomed in to capture his side view. Handsome actor who looks much slimmer off the set. Lol. I acted like a paparazzi. Hohoho. After spending some time at Hort Park, we embarked on our journey to explore the Southern Ridges. Together, we walked to Henderson Waves and continued on the Marang Trail towards Harbour Front MRT.

We completed the Forest Walk to reach Henderson Waves where we had a bird's eye view of the awesome landscape. At Henderson Waves, I found a good spot to set up my tripod for our group photos. Hahaha... it was fun!

Next, we moved on uphill towards Mount Faber Park. As the kids and their mothers were tired, we rested for a while at the Jewel Box. We had the Japanese ice-cream to quench our thirst and cool ourselves as the weather was scorching hot. Instead of continuing with the walk, the kids' mothers decided to take the cable car to Harbour Front. Hence, we did not complete the Marang Trail. Nonetheless, it was thrilling to sit in the cable car together towards Harbour Front where Vivocity was situated. Hahaha... it has been more than a decade since I last sat in a cable car in Singapore. I could fadely remember it was when I was 12 years old when I took a cable car to Sentosa. It had been a memorable experience to bring my tuition kids and their mothers and a maid out on an "excursion/ nature tour".

Upon reaching Vivocity food court, everyone was thirsty and bought cold fruit juices and drinks from the drink stall. Thankful for the treats given to me by my tuition kids' mothers. Heehee... ice-cream and drink... and even coffee bread. Lol.

Bade them farewell at Vivocity as I went shopping for a gift for my German friend, Anne, whom I got to know at TMSI while she was doing her Masters internship. She was returning to Germany and leaving on a Saturday 3a.m. flight.

The most hilarious thing was that she forgot to give me the details of her flight number, airline and destination of her flight. I was practically on a wild goose chase when I got to Changi Airport. While hoping she remembers to call me so that I can locate her, since she had lost her handphone and I can't reach her on phone; I walked around from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3, doing a guess-and-check, narrowing down my options to international flights and flight time around early morning 3a.m. timing. I even enquired twice at the information counters. However, it was difficult coz I did not even know her flight destination.

Then, I thought maybe she sent the e-mail to me and I haven't checked my mail the whole day since I was out. Hence, I had to go from Terminal 2 Macdonald's to Terminal 3 Macdonald's to use the free internet access because the PCs at terminal 2 were down. Just as well, since I have yet to visit and explore Terminal 3 since its opening. Changi Airport is really big. To find someone in such a big place with 3 terminals... can you imagine?
After checking my mail and msn at Terminal 3 Macdonald's, I found no mail from Anne and didn't see her online. Well, prayed to God that I will be able to find her so that I can give her the gift that I bought for her, a Precious Moments mousepad. Coz she had commented that my Precious Moment mousepad that I use at TMSI was lovely. Thanks be to God! After a long search with much perseverance, haha, I finally found Anne at Terminal 3 Coffee Bean just as she was about to get up to go to the restroom. Lol, I appeared in time to help her 'jaga' (look after) her luggages and valuables while she visited the restroom. What a marvel! I could actually find her in such a huge place at the airport afterall, not knowing her flight no., airline n destination. Geezs...

After that, we had dinner together at around 8+p.m. at Terminal 1 food court. My German friend, Anne wanted to eat the local fare before she leaves for Germany, her homeland. She had Nonya Laksa while I had prawn noodles. Treated her to the simple meal. Heehee... showing the hospitality of a good Singaporean host. Lol. Wished I had more time with her to bring her around Singapore on food galore. A pity, our time didn't match for the past weeks. She was very touched that I made the effort to come to send her off.
Heehee. This was in fact the first time in my life I ever came alone to send a friend off at the Changi Airport. Heh, what are friends for, even though we only knew each other for a month or so. Yeah!

For the first time in my life, I took the last train from Changi Airport to Tanah Merah whereby the connecting train service to Boon Lay had ended. Hence, I had no choice but to disembark at Tanah Merah MRT station to walk to the bus stop. Thankfully, the bus service was still ongoing. Thus, I managed to take bus 31 home. Phew! Thought I had to take a taxi at first. Thank God there was a bus for me to travel home and I can save money on transport.

This Friday was definitely a memorable and fun Friday in September. Hahaha... Thanks be to God!

Be foolish enough to

Be the LAST to CRITICIZE a friend who FAILS

Be sure where next step will fall, so that you will not stumble
Be sure of your final destination,
