Savour the Flavour

Early I arose at 8a.m. to get ready for the day ahead. After washing up and eating breakfast, I started on my Quiet Time from 9.30a.m. to 10.30a.m. This morning's Bible reading was from Galatians 3: 26 - 29.

The star verse is Galatians 3: 28.
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave or free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

What I have learnt:

1) In a world where pride and prejudice abound, Jesus offers us the joy of unity across all the lines that so easily divides us.
2) In His church, the unique flavours of our diverse backgrounds can complement each other, united "through faith in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3: 26) and empowered by His Spirit and our submission to His principles.
3) In Him, our diversity doesn't divide but rather unites and enriches us as we recognise that we all have Jesus, His Word and His Ways in common.
4) Embrace Jesus Christ together, our differences become secondary and our mutual love for Him drives us to love each other as He has loved us.
5) Jesus is the master mixer!
6) In His kingdom, pride and prejudice are out, and love and mutual acceptance are the order of the day. --Joe Stowell

The joys of unity abound
When love accepts diversity
And prejudice cannot be found. --Sper
*8) Christ's love creates unity in the midst of diversity.

Proverbs 4: 18 - 27
"But the path of the just is like the shining sun,
That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.
The way of the wicked is like darkness;
They do not know what makes them stumble.
My son, give attention to my words;
Incline your ear to my sayings.
Do not let them depart from your eyes;
Keep them in the midst of your heart;
For they are life to those who find them,
And health to all their flesh.
Keep your heart with all diligence,
For out of it spring the issues of life.
Put away from you a deceitful mouth,
And put perverse lips far from you.
Let your eyes look straight ahead,
And your eyelids look right before you.

Truly, the Word of God gives me great insight, wisdom and knowledge to lead my life. Thanks be to God for the directions He has given me.

Every Prayer

Mere light may scan a disk
And music fills the air;
We trust in lasers yet we doubt
That God can hear a prayer.

A flower grows from seed,
A baby's born somewhere;
We believe in these but cannot see
How God hears any prayer.

Small miracles occur
Around us everywhere,
So why are we still wondering
If God will hear our prayer?

To those who are aware;
Our faith should help us realize

Indeed, God hears every prayer. He has since answered many of my prayers. Thanks be to the LORD for the grace, mercy and blessings showered upon me.

I came across a signboard around Joo Chiat area after tuition yesterday. On it, the words were meaningfully inscribed:

"YESTERDAY IS

ALREADY A DREAM,

AND TOMORROW IS

ONLY A VISION, BUT

TODAY, WELL LIVED,

MAKES EVERY YESTERDAY

A DREAM OF HAPPINESS

AND EVERY TOMORROW

A VISION OF HOPE.

Yes, in God I have HOPE. Thank God for guiding me everyday. May GOD use me to do His Work and that I obey. May I serve God faithfully, shining as a little star in the universe for God. I hope to touch the lives of all whom I meet in my life journey, showing forth the LOVE of GOD that will warm their hearts and bring cheer to them.

Certainly, I hope that thus far in my life journey that I have sojourned, I have done so. Running this race of life, with my eyes upon the LORD; setting the goal on the crown of life and storing treasures in HEAVEN! Amen!

Looking fondly at the precious bookmark that my ex-students, Feibi & Feifan, who gave it to me back in Year 2005, the words on it reminds me once again how I ought to live my life for God.

1 Thessalonians 5: 16 - 18 (NIV)
Be joyful always;
Pray continually;
Give thanks in all circumstances,
for this is
God's will for you
in Christ Jesus.
