A New Chapter, A New Beginning @NUS TMSI

Today was my first day reporting for work at NUS Tropical Marine Science Institute as a part-time research assistant. Time flies... it has been 3 weeks since I left teaching at Tanjong Katong Primary. Right now, I will be assisting Dr Raju and my ex-Geography lecturer, Prof Teh in their current project on CLIMATE CHANGE. I am excited and elated to be part of this project as this is a hot topic with global warming impacting the climate that affects the sea level rise. Geography and environmental management has always been my passion as the root of it derives from my love for God's creation. Hence, my love for nature photography and appreciation.

A new chapter of my life has begun. Gone are my official teaching days, but fond memories remain. Moving on ahead to pursue dreams and aspirations of widening my horizon, hoping to gain more exposure and experience in various fields. Always eager to learn new things and discover the joy of exploration in this journey. I get to explore the use of iMac computer at my new work station at TMSI. It's fun to be able to try out new stuff.

My first fieldwork for today was at Labrador Park, a nature park that I have never been to. I enjoyed photographing and filming the researchers and field assistants at work. Moreover, it has been a long while since I fiddled with my canon MV700i Digital Video Camcorder. Well, good to be able to put my personal equipments of Canon EOS 20D SLR camera, MV700i DV camcorder and tripod to practical use.

After fieldwork, I went for my 3rd tuition session with Kelvin, my former student. Well, I enjoy doing one-to-one tuition as it allows me to do more careful observations & diagnostics to identify the root of the problem to solve it effectively. Always a teacher at heart, seeking to give my best to my students.

Tomorrow will be another fun day of fieldwork. Praying for good weather. Time for rest...tired after a whole day of work. Phew... have to admit that age is catching up... not as agile as I once was.
