Creator, Creation & Creatures

Thanks be to God for this morning that is filled with bright sunshine and cooling breeze. Reading the Daily Bread article on Elephants Down and the Bible reading on Jonah 4 and Proverbs 7, I have strongly reminded of the Cs of life. For me, the Cs that come to mind are as follows:
1) Creator
2) Creation
3) Creatures
4) Care
5) Concern

The star verse for the day is Exodus 23: 12
"Six days you shall do your work, and on the seventh day you shall rest, that your ox and donkey shall rest, and the son of your maidservant and the stranger may be refreshed.

Indeed, this verse comes as an apt and timely reminder to me once again to rest when it's time to rest. A time for work, a time for rest.

What I have learnt:
1) The LORD, our Creator shows attention to all His creatures.
2) The LORD expresses concern for not only His people, but also their livestock.
3) Care for people and animals.
4) The Creator gives us reason to provide appropriate, though different, attention to both.
5) If God cares even for livestock, how can we ignore the needs of any person for whom His Son died?
6) * In trees and flowers of the field,
In creatures large and small,
We trace the watchful care of Him,
Who planned and made them all. ---King

7) * God cares for us and calls us to care for His creation.

*Jonah 4:2
"... You are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, One who relents from doing harm."

*Proverbs 7: 1 - 4
"My son, keep my words,
And treasure my commands within you.
Keep my commands and live,
And my law as the apple of your eye.
Bind them on your fingers;
Write them on the tablet of your heart,
Say to wisdom, "You are my sister,"
And call understanding your nearest kin."

Well, coincidentally, in recent times, we have this campaign 'Save the Earth' that emphasizes on caring for our Earth through Reduce, Reuse & Recycle. 'Save the Earth' campaign comes about as a solution to the current global warming and climate change issues. However, the damage that has been done to the earth at the rapid rate of human consumption of natural resources till we are fast depleting it are tremendous. Thankful that at least something is done to care for God's creation, however, most who really do advocate 'Save the Earth' are mostly either lovers of God's creation or environmentalist like me. Let's do our part to care for God's creation and mitigate the damages that have been done so far to mother nature, our Earth.
