Once mission was accomplished, we left for my home first to put my barang barang before meeting Qing Qing for makan and movie at Marina Square.
After collecting the tickets, we had a sumptous meal at Waraku. Yummy, creamy and cheesy food. :P
Hahaha... going out with me, there will always be photo shoot time! Well, don't the 3 of us look pretty and photogenic. Hahaha... san mian xia wa... hohoho...
After lunch/ dinner, it was movie time. Yeah! Kungfu Panda was a fantastic movie. It's been ages since I laughed so heartily throughout a movie. It was so hilarious that I laughed till I was teary and choking. The movie had several great phrases that I felt were suitable for the relationship between teacher and student... nothing is impossible, if you believe... there is no secret recipe, it's about believing in yourself... nothing is a coincidence... yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift, that's why it is called the present.
Somehow, it just reminds me about the importance of a teacher believing in the ability of the student no matter how weak or horrid the student may be at first. The bottomline was the matter of BELIEF! Only when we believe in the students, then can we nurture them to be the best they can be, even beyond our imagination.
Well, somehow it strikes the chord of my heart, reminding me of those days of teaching the weak students whereby I used creative means to motivate the students to learn, just like the Master in the movie 'Kungfu Panda'. To motivate them, I fondly remember how I always give out paper cranes to students giving the analogy of believing in them to be able to stretch out to their fullest potential under my guidance; how I used to bring students out to East Coast Park to cycle, eat MacDonald's and even watch movie as reward for good results or improvements. Those were the days... and indeed, that's what made teaching rewarding in seeing students appreciate you for the extra milestone taken to motivate them and eventually seeing them making marked improvements in behaviour, attitude and results. Those were the times of untangible rewards of teaching... cannot be measured, but felt deep in the heart. Thankful to God that I made a difference in the lives of these children whom I have taught through my 4 years as a teacher at Tanjong Katong Primary. Remembering the good times, best times of fun, cheer and unmeasurable rewards.
Be strong enough to
face the world each day
Be weak enough to know
you cannot do everything alone
Be generous to those who need your help
Be frugal with what you need yourself
Be wise enough to know that
you do not know everything
Be foolish enough to
BELIEVE in MIRACLES
Be willing to
SHARE your JOYS
Be willing to
SHARE the sorrows of others
Be a leader when you see a path others have missed
Be a follower when
you are shrouded in the midst of uncertainty
Be the FIRST to CONGRATULATE an opponent who SUCCEEDS
Be the LAST to CRITICIZE a friend who FAILS
Be sure where next step will fall, so that you will not stumble
Be sure of your final destination,
in case you are going the wrong way.
Be LOVING
to those who LOVE you
Be LOVING
to those who DO NOT LOVE you,
and they may CHANGE.
Above all, BE YOURSELF.
