Feeling Breathless

I woke up at 4a.m. feeling breathless again. Thoughts of school matters kept coming to my mind even though I know I should be at complete rest. What a workaholic I am. Sighz. Well, it's just my sense of responsibility and dedication to teaching. Always to give my best, doing it not for men, but for GOD! Always caring for the children whom I teach...loving them just as God loves me. Just like the song, 'Jesus Loves The Little Children'.

Hence, I decided that I must go to school later to return the remaining worksheets and books to my students for them to prepare for SA1. Otherwise, I cannot rest in peace. In addition, I need to bring my school laptop back in case of urgent school cockpit matters to be done while I am on Medical Leave till 6th May. I love my Futjitsu laptop as it has all the stuff I need... photos, music and various working documents. I am going to bring it home to accompany me during my period of rest and recovery.

Right now, I have applied 'Vicks' on my nose and chest to help me to breathe better. Taking deep breaths, counting to 4 ... breathe in, counting to 4, breathe out. Just like what the paramedic and doctor taught me, take slow deep breaths, not short quick breaths. Otherwise, I will end up hyperventilating again and feel numbness in hands and feet. Aiyoh... I do not want the same thing to happen again. Yesterday was a terrible experience of feeling so numb and cold when I hyperventilated and became breathless due to my severe continuous coughing. Another thing that I must remember is to breathe through my mouth if my nose is blocked. Sighz... but such a way of breathing is so tiring and dries me out. My mouth feels constantly dry and I have to keep drinking. Consequently, I have to frequent the toilet to release. Feeling so dehydrated... despite drinking lots of water.

Well, for the next few days, I will be resting at my new house at Upper Boon Keng in the day time as my niece Keziah comes over to my current house to be cared for by my mother. Otherwise, she will keep coming to me. As I need complete rest and do not want to spread any germs that I may be carrying (bronchitis) to her, the best is to rest in my new house. Thank God my new house is almost ready with all the renovation and furnitures done up. The only things that are not available there is internet connection and CD player.

As the Words of God speak, THERE'S A TIME FOR EVERYTHING. I think this is the time God wants me to rest in him completely, casting all my cares upon HIM. God will carry me through this trial of life. Tough it may be, but I shall fight with the strength of the LORD. Meanwhile, thanks be to the Lord for the 'angels' he sent to protect me in the form of my colleagues, friends and family. Thanks be to the Lord for his mercy and grace. Thanks be to the Lord for the prayers of my Christian colleagues and friends.
