For the past 2 weeks, I have been reading this book 'How to Win Friends & Influence People' written by Dale Carnegie. Wow! It's a good book to read. I enjoyed reading the book and using the tips in my life. The following is a sharing of the key principles that I have learnt on various aspects of life.

9 WAYS TO CHANGE PEOPLE WITHOUT AROUSING RESENTMENT
Be a Leader
A leader's job often includes changing your people's attitudes and behaviour. Some suggestions to accomplish this:
1) Begin with praise and honest appreciation
2) Call attention to people's mistakes indirectly
3) Talk about your own mistakes before criticising the other person
4) Ask questions instead of giving direct orders
5) Let the other person save face
6) Praise the slightest improvement and praise every improvement. Be "hearty in approbation and lavish in your praise."
7) Give the other person a fine reputation to live up to
8) Use encouragement. Make the fault seem easy to correct.
9) Make the other person happy about doing the thing you suggest
Having finished reading this book, I have moved on to reading the next book 'Who moved my Cheese?' written by Dr Spencer Johnson. Thus far, it has been an interesting and engaging read. I love reading. An interesting story about 4 characters, 2 mice, Sniff & Scurry (simple-minded) and 2 Littlepeople, Hem & Haw (complex-minded). Basically, it is all about coping with changes. Since in life, change is the constant. None of us can ever stop changes from happening. We have to adapt and go with the flow. Keep moving on.
Well, here are a few interesting sayings of these characters that I have read so far:
1) Having Cheese Makes You Happy
2) The More Important Your Cheese Is To You, The More You Want To Hold On To It.
3) If You Do Not Change, You Can Become Extinct
4) What Would You Do, If You Were'nt Afraid?
5) Smell The Cheese Often So You Know When It Is Getting Old
6) Movement in a New Direction Helps You Find New Cheese
7) When You Stop Being Afraid, You Feel Good!
8) Imagining Yourself Enjoying Your New Cheese Leads You To It
Just like what Apostle Paul mentioned in the BIBLE about forgetting what is behind and moving on ahead. Life is race that we run. I went for a jog after work and it refreshes me. It's time to MOVE ON AHEAD, FOCUSING on only GOD, my LORD JESUS, my Saviour. Cast my cares upon the Lord. Everyone is busy with their work on earth. It just comes as a reminder that when I am alone, actually I am not, coz God is with me always. Yesterday, Today & Forevermore. Jesus Christ is my BEST FRIEND ever. Friends on earth are just temporary, coming and going.
Trusting and knowing God will carry me through whatever challenges lie before me. I believe in His plan for me. I dedicate myself to SERVE him to the best as I can in whatever I do. DO IT ALL FOR GOD, NOT FOR MEN. Let It Be! YEAH!
