Great Fun in Taiwan with Frenzs

I had a jolly good time during this June holiday trip to Taiwan with my best friend Hua Chin, along with her R.O. (Reach Out) volunteer group friends, Jie Ting and Colin, with his kid sister, Tong Tong.

For the first time in my life, I travelled with just friends without my parents or with the school people. How wonderful it was to enjoy the fun in travelling from place to place in Taipei with my friends. I loved the times spent there sight-seeing, eating and shopping.

Truly, God's creation is beautiful and awesome. We definitely loved the mountainous and sea views. The best sea view was at Ye Liu with the different rock formations and stacks left behind by weathering of wind and waves.

There were a few great mountainous sights of Wu Lai Waterfall, Mount Yang Ming and La La Shan. The mountainous view that I enjoyed most was at La La Shan, whereby we spent a day trekking at the La La Shan forest reserve and staying overnight at this lovely wooden lodge (xiao mu wu) that faces the stretch of mountainous range.

We also had a fantastic time singing away on Auntie Liao's personal KTV system. Ended the night with a few good old songs like peng you (Friends). A pity, the sunrise was not as fantastic as we dreamt it to be. Nonetheless, we had a good breakfast served by the host, Auntie Liao before we journeyed on back to Taipei city.

Throughout this trip, I am thankful for having friends who always care for me. Ever so thoughtful, especially my best friend, Hua Chin.

During the third day of the holidaying in Taiwan, that was Monday, I started having indigestion and giddy spells during the 1 day tour organised by Wingo Travel. Early during the tour at jiu fen, we ate alot as we walked around tasting the different delicacies. Bought a lot of goodies at that place.
Later, while walking around at wu fen, I started to turn pale and giddy. My dear friend, Hua Chin had to help me around.

Hmmm... afterall, my gastrics was acting up and indigestion started. When we reached the next place at the hot spring/ spa, my kawan chin checked on me if I was ok before she proceeded with the rest for the soak in the hot spring. A pity, I could not join them. I was feeling better than at wu fen, but I ran to the toilet to vomit after they went for the hot spring. Thankfully, after throwing up, I felt much better. I ordered a cup of hot Chinese tea to calm my weak stomach and warm up.

My friends kept asking if I was ok. I assured them that I was better. Particularly, my best friend Chin who keeps checking on me. Felt so good to have a great buddy who cares so much for me. Hence, she reminded me constantly to mind what I eat then, knowing me well to be a food lover. Sighz... what to do since I have a weak stomach from the previous months of being ill. Slowly building up my health. Sad that I could not eat as much as I would have liked at the Shilin Night market with the rest of them. Heehee, but my kawan bought me a good hot bowl of porridge that was nice to eat. I could only try a bit of the food that the rest ate. Better than nothing.

Heehee, nevertheless, on the last day at Taiwan, we returned to Shilin night market when I was better. Hahaha... could eat more and try a variety of food. Well, but the food was okay... not as fantastic as people said. The best delicacy was the mango pudding afterall.

On the last day at Taipei, the 3 gals, Hua Chin, Jie Ting and me, went on shopping spree. Wow... we spent alot on clothes, shoes and others. Well, I spent till I had no more NT money left. In the end, had to borrow from Hua Chin first. I enjoyed eating and sharing food with my friends. Following that, we shopped at the night market at Shilin. As it was the last night, I was feeling tired and walked around like a zombie. For a moment, I was nearly lost in the crowds when I was knocked by other people. Took a while before my friends located me trailing at the back behind them from a distance.

After buying so many stuff over the past 6 days, I realised that I bought a lot of food stuff, more than clothes and others. Happy with my purchases whereby I can give gifts to my friends, church mates and colleagues. Hmmm... took a while before I managed to compact my stuff into 3 bags, 2 to check in and 1 to carry on. For the last night, I slept well as I was tired out.

Early this morning, my alarm went off at 4.30a.m. In the end, I lazed in bed while my friends, Chin and Jie Ting woke up first to wash up. Simply tired after all the travelling. Had instant cup noodles for breakfast before we set off for the Taipei airport in the transport arranged by Wingo Travel.

We reached the airport around 7.15 a.m. and checked in our luggages at 7.40a.m. At the airport, I bought a nice Ocarina in Wonderland CD. Lovely music from the Ocarina. I had bought a few Ocarinas for gifts to others and myself. Going to learn how to play it proper. Good instrument for destress too.

Finally, at 9a.m., we departed from Taiwan to return to Singapore via China Airlines CI 661. During the journey back, there was a few air turbulences. Thank God for the safe journey home and the mercy shown.

I was greeted by my parents and lovely baby niece Keziah upon reaching home. Haha, she started hugging my leg once I reached home. So sweet.

Back from holidays in Taiwan, I am now uploading all the lovely photographs taken. Admiring the photos taken during the trip. Soon, it will be back to reality and get going with the race ahead to get tasks assigned accomplished. Like what my kawan reminded me too, take it easy. Slowly and steadily, I will get things done. Rest and relax while it's still holidays. Recharge for the battle ahead...
